I've been busy the last 2 months and note Facebook has again made changes that I might not like, but haven't figured out which ones to turn-off, or how....can anyone catch me up? Thanks. Carla

Ah Holly Olinger. Still pissed off....at me...and life, I surmise. How unlovely & typical of you to add a snarky reply to my post. I suppose this means you are spoiling for a fight. Sorry you knocked on the wrong door. It is simply too lovely a time of year, and I'm in too nice a space to engage. Go kick a rock instead. C

Well, back to the original question... I've heard and seen a lot of complaints about the changes FB makes. Even when you think you've finally got it nailed, they change it again. It really is frustrating, and I've been tempted to say "the hell with it," BUT... Can you describe what specifically you're trying to do or not do?

Thanks Mark: I think what's bothering me is that FB keeps changing things and opening up new ways to share info and unless one is ON TOP of each change....you may have info going out that you don't want. I view my personal FB page as just for family and friends to check in on me. So this news feed thing puzzles me and while I was out this summer making a living there seemed to be other FB changes that people were turning off to protect their privacy. So I was wondering if there was anything I missed and should now turn off. Simple? snort, no. Carla

Don't know...I'm still trying to figure out what the changes are. Usually I find out about those after someone else posts a comment about them. In general, some things never change, on Facebook or on the Internet as a whole: don't put anything on FB that you wouldn't want the "wrong" people to see. If you want to make sure nobody can download your images (including FB--they can under the Terms of Service we agreed to), don't post them. Don't put info that could make you a target for the bad guys out there; i.e., "I'm going to be on the road for the next three weeks doing shows 1000 miles away" -- if your address is anywhere online, including your Website, you've just invited the burglars to c'mon over and help themselves cuz you won't be there to stop them. Sigh -- it ain't supposed to be this way, but it is...

I don't use Facebook for this very reason: privacy. But I cannot stop friends and family from posting photos for all the world to see that I would rather just keep in the family.

It seems like links and posts that you make now have privacy settings for each one. The links and shared posts were set to "public" by default. Not a huge deal but annoying none the less. Not sure what else has changed. I don't like the fact that they got rid of the "links" post type they had. I guess you need to cut and paste in the URL which looks messier. I also lost my wordpress auto-share about the time of the last facebook update.
