The 56th Annual Halifax Art Festival is presented and produced by the Guild of the Daytona Beach Museum of Arts & Sciences. The Festival is the Guild’s Signature fundraiser for the Museum. The Halifax Art Festival has risen in attendance and reputation to become one of the most prestigious festivals in the Central Florida area. It is the second oldest continual festival in Florida held on Daytona’s historic Beach Street adjacent to the Halifax River. Voted 2017’s "Best Outdoor Art Festival" by the readers of Daytona’s Hometown News. Admission is free to the public with plenty of free parking for artful shoppers as well as artists and craftsmen. The City closes traffic on Beach Street for easy load-in and load-out for artists. There are Artist amenities, hospitality, artist pizza party Saturday night, an Awards Breakfast Sunday morning, and all weekend security. The extensive multi-layered marketing/publicity campaign draws 30,000 shoppers from the I-4 corridor, locals and ‘snowbirds’ to view the works of 250 artists from all over the United States. The Festival has two sections – Competitive Fine Arts and Crafts which is juried and judged and eligible for prize and patron money. Non-Competitive Arts are juried but not eligible for awards. Art work in both sections must be original creations, no buy/sell.
